Teeth whitening before and after

Teeth Whitening in Dianella

Teeth whitening is a popular method to improve the appearance of teeth and help maintain good oral health. It can be done in-chair with a professional or at home. It is important to remember that teeth whitening does not work on all types of stains. Before beginning any type of teeth whitening treatment, it is important to visit a dentist for an assessment and advice on the best approach.

These products are not recommended for patients with egg sensitivity, low tolerance for cold, or with bad holes in their teeth. If you have any of these issues, we have other options for you.

In-Chair Whitening

In-chair whitening products typically use extremely high concentrations of chemicals, such as hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. Therefore, only registered dental practitioners can legally use them. We use the top-rated Phillips Zoom teeth whitening system.

After assessing your teeth to ensure that in-chair whitening is a good option for you, our dentist will note the current shade of your teeth before making moulds of the top and bottom rows. These will serve as your customised trays. The teeth must also be clean and free of any build-up.

At the next visit, the dentist covers your gums for protection and paints the bleaching agent on the teeth. Laser light is used to activate the whitening process, depending on the patient’s tolerance. This takes about 60 minutes and often only needs one session. Patients may see results up to four shades lighter – on average.

At Home Whitening

Pola at-home kits are widely available throughout Australia and are suitable for people of all ages. These easy-to-use kits allow individuals to perform professional-level teeth whitening treatments at home. They use a unique combination of special gels and LED lights to break down stubborn stains on the teeth, leaving them looking brighter and whiter.

For best results, it is recommended that you follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer and your dentist.

Discuss Your Options

Regardless of which method you choose, it is important to remember that results are not permanent and need to be maintained with regular checkup and a good oral hygiene routine. Follow the instructions closely and visit your dentist regularly for checkup and clean. With proper maintenance, teeth whitening can provide a long-lasting solution for improving the appearance of your smile.
